Magnesium E 717 alloy, also known as Elektron 717 or ZE10A, is a lightweight magnesium alloy that is known for its good strength, corrosion resistance, and formability. This makes it suitable for engineering applications that require a lightweight solution for thin panel sections, such as skins and enclosures.
It is composed of approximately 0.7-1.3% zinc, 0.25% zirconium, and <0.5% neodymium, with the remaining balance being magnesium.
